• Receiving area (flume)
Fresh tomatoes receiving, unloading and handling equipment:
This part of the line is suitable to receive the fresh tomato supplied to the factory by trucks to be hydraulically unloaded into a flume system and/or manually discharged from boxes. This is especially designed to handle fresh tomatoes mechanically harvested i.e. containing stalks, vines, sand, stones. The system is able to work on continuous basis and avoid that such foreign materials enter into the tomato juice processing area.
The main advantages are:
- first: allowing continuous and constant unloading of raw material from trucks at the set volume
- second: performing elimination on continuous basis of stones and sand and/or other foreign materials
- third: easy cleaning operation.
This section includes:
· Hydraulic discharging flumes, “U” type water conveying system for the hydraulic discharge of fresh tomatoes, from both side of the flume. With:
- water houses
- set of pipes and electrical fan for bubbling air on the bottom
- set of water valves
- devices for elimination of stones and sand
· Stalks and vines device consisting of a special rotor placed inside the flume if required.
· Water filtration & recovery system with:
- Submerged centrifugal pumps for water feeding to the self-cleaning filter
- Self-cleaning drum filters for eliminating the solid parts (grass, stones, leaves, etc....) in the re-circulating water.
