SIPS OF HEALTH IN A GLASS


Aperitifs and long drinks: when thirst also means the need for vitamins and mineral salts, the “juice” solution is number one

 

PLAIN
Ingredients for 1 person: tomato juice, Tabasco sauce, lemon, salt and pepper.

Pour the tomato juice into a tall glass (you can prepare the juice at home by blending approximately 250 g of nicely ripe and sound tomatoes in a blender, or you can simply buy already prepared juice in one-portion bottles), season it by adding a few drops of Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper and a bit of squeezed lemon. Then, add a few ice cubes, as desired, stir using a long-handled spoon and serve with a straw.

CELERY FLAVOURED 

Ingredients for 1 person: 250 g of ripe tomatoes, 2 stalks of celery, a Golden apple, fresh basil leaves, salt, pepper corns.

Blend the tomatoes, the apple and one stalk of celery and centrifuge them. Continue by stirring in the mixing glass, flavour with salt, ground pepper and basil. Pour the drink in a glass and decorate it with the remaining stalk of celery.

GREEN APPLE FLAVOURED 

Ingredients for 1 person: 250 g of tomatoes, one green apple, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, a small bunch of red currant, salt.

Blend the tomatoes and green apple separately. Mix the two juices in a glass, stir and dress with salt, a few drops of the Tabasco and Worcestershire sauces, then garnish with the red currant.

LIME FLAVOURED 

Ingredients for 1 person: 250 g of ripe tomatoes, 1 stalk of celery, 1 cherry tomato, 1 lime, Worcestershire sauce, celery flavoured salt.

Blend tomatoes in a centrifuge; collect the juice in the mixing glass, add a few drops of Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of celery flavoured salt and the filtered juice of a half lime. Stir and then pour into a low and large glass (old-fashioned type) adding a few ice cubes. Garnish it with a stalk of celery, a slice of lime, the cherry tomato and immediately serve, nice and cool.

BASIL FLAVOURED
 
Ingredients for 1 person: 250 g of ripe tomatoes, 150 g of carrots, 1 lime, Tabasco sauce, basil, extra virgin olive oil, salt.

Blend tomatoes and carrots together in a blender. Stir the two juices together in a glass, season with lime juice, Tabasco sauce, salt, a trickle of olive oil and then stir, add a few ice cubes and serve after garnishing with basil leaves and lime.

PEPPER FLAVOURED

Ingredients for 1 person: one bottle of tomato juice, one green bell pepper, 2 cherry tomatoes, Tabasco sauce, salt.
Blend a half of the pepper together with a tablespoon of crushed ice; pour in a glass, add some ice cubes and the tomato juice, Tabasco sauce and salt. Stir and garnish with cherry tomatoes and a thin pepper slice.

CARROT FLAVOURED

Ingredients for 1 person:

250 g of tomatoes, one green pepper segment, a clove of garlic, basil, Worcestershire sauce, 1 carrot, extra virgin olive oil, salt.

Peel the tomatoes, remove the seeds and blend tomatoes with the pepper, a half clove of garlic, basil, in abundance, salt, a sprinkle of Worcestershire sauce and a trickle of extra virgin olive oil. Pour the mix into a glass adding a few ice cubes, then garnish with carrot sticks, basil leaves, a tomato segment and serve.
